                           Support Education and Self - Development Programs for Slum Children

                     Surveys of slums reveal that most of the parents are illiterate and they work as laborers

                     or as household help. The rate of school dropouts is very high amongst their children.

                     Girls, in particular, when they fail at school examinations, are married off at an early age.

                     Therefore 'JAGRUTI' Conducts :

                         a) Support Education Classes with no fees from 1st to 10th standard to arrest school dropouts.

                         b) Very bright and needy students receive support for higher education, including hostel

                              arrangements for girls.

                         c) Programs are conducted for all-round development of the children to imbibe in them

                             good values, habits and skills. 

                         d) JAGRUTI tries to achieve this by providing library and reading room facilities, conducting hobby

                             classes arranging educational visits, arranging lectures and presentations by social workers,

                             scientists and doctors.
